A Microbiologist by degree and a Marketing Communications specialist, Gautam Bordoloi has over 17 years of experience in Marketing. He is currently an entrepreneur who has been working on developing novel Phytochemicals and Biopolymers. From 2003 till 2011, his career in Indian Media as a Marketing and Sales professional. He worked on the launch of many Indian TV Channels like India TV, CNBC, CNBC Awaaz, IBN 7, Star Jalsha and Star Pravah before quitting the media industry in 2011 to start his own Media Buying Firm, Serendipity Media. This successful four year stint at entrepreneurship gave him the idea that it was high time he returned to his roots both in terms of birthplace as well as education. Following a long term desire to work in his home state on developing local industry here, Gautam moved back to Assam in 2014. In Guwahati he joined Priya Communications as CEO and then as a consultant for advertising agencies like Exclusive Advertising Pvt Ltd. With Trans Virtual Pvt Ltd as a consultant from 2019, he has worked on IT, HDPE pipes and other projects like technical skill development of youths with Trans Virtual Pvt Ltd. Continuing his association with Trans Virtual Pvt Ltd, Gautam worked on acquisition and development of new technologies. In 2023, after three years of working on different Technology Transfer Agreements with CSIR, NIPER and IIT Guwahati, he founded and incorporated Hengul Biotech Pvt Ltd as a subsidiary company of Trans Virtual Pvt Ltd, with a mandate to commercialise new and promising sustainable technologies developed by Indian Research Institutions. It is the mandate of Hengul to promote agricultural land owners, farmers, local scientific talent and traditional agricultural practices, merging them with new sustainable technologies to create industry which conforms to the biodiversity an ecological sensitivity of North East India while providing for greater socio-economic development of the region. Hengul Biotech is currently working on Natural, Environment Friendly, Non-Toxic, Biodegradable, Compostable, Renewable, Sustainable, Green, Biopolymer based Materials intended for creation of reusable and disposable products in different compositions, textures and colours, designed to be appropriate substitutes for various disposable and reusable plastic products in the market.
